Monthly Expenses App Reviews

Money wasted

Total garbage. Uninstalled.

It wont work for me

Maybe someone can help. Everytime I open the app to start working it shuts itself down, shows me an error report and that it. This is the first time Ive ever used the app. Day one it started failing on me. But everyone else has such high reviews, maybe there is just a gliche in the current system.

Really Bad

It’s riddled with bugs. I honeslty don’t know how the people giving it a good review don’t have problems. Several times I have to quit and reopen because of a silly bug like “Invalid Amount” when it’s not. The dollar sign appears for some expenses and not others. The monthly report includes bills that I deleted. It’s very difficult to scroll through expensives. It can’t do negative numbers (which would be useful if you’re trying to move money around) instead it gives you an error message that you have exceaded the monthly budget. The only thing this app has going for it is the design. Big waste of money. Huge.

Great Idea, Terrible Application

The idea of the application is great. It’s a simple application to use and it is aethetically pleasing. However, the functionality of the application is very subpar. If you have more then 6 expenses in a single day, the application does not let you scroll through the additional expenses that are not shown. The fact that you are not allowed to resize the window is also frustrating. Being able to resize the application would help some people and also show more available content. There is also not a way to ‘Search’ or ‘Find’ expenses in a tool bar or even a command feature. Until there is a new version of the application it is frustrating to use.

This accounting app is very good

It allows me to keep track of all my expenses. All in one place. Everything is dated and plced over a calendar. Raj always tries to help me with my questions.

Verry good accounting app

I really love this app for its clean and easy interface. The ease of entering my expenses. I travel a lot and this keeps me sorted and aware of what I am spending. I’m not a fan of acounting softwares, but this one is so easy and even fun that I defeintly recomend it. P.S. It would be great if there was an iPhone app that connect via icloud. So that you can enter your details on the go. Also a lighter, cleaning designer. Not as hard as black.

basic/underwhelming for price point

Nice looking, very basic, but overall underwhelming for the price point. Good design though.

Not worth the money

Can’t carry over monthly balance. Very difficult to use. Wanted to replace my homemade spreadsheet of monthly expenses. This does not do it. No instructions on how to use. Program is not intuitive to just “use it"

Excellent service

Update: Supports long numerical values in this version. I dont use cheques much, online and credit card payment modes would have been a better addition. Had an issue with scrolling in my Mac, version 10.9. Made a complaint and was served pretty soon with an update. It is all well now.

Clean, Simple, Basic

This is an easy and simple app to keep track of how much you spend each day. You go in, click a day, click the + sign and add the expense. Simple. The calendar layout lets you click a day and see what you spent that day. It’s not a budget manager, it’s not a financial planning software it just keeps a simple record of what you spend each day, whether it’s cash, credit or otherwise it’s still money spent. All I do is put in an amount I am budgeting for the month, then each day record where I spent money that day. Spent $2.38 at McDonald’s check, Spent $10.00 on gas check, Spent $45 at Macy’s check. Click on a day and I can see that on that day I spent this much money. I’m not planning my retirement or anything I just want a quick and simple look at where I spent my money on any given day without having to open a financial planning program like iBank or Quicken where everything has accounts and categories etc. Many of the reviews says it lacks this feature or that feature, the reality is that this is not an app that is like Quicken or will keep track of your investments it’s a very simple way to keep a record of what you spent on any given day. I have been using a similar app on my iPhone for years and this one came on the mac and I had to get it. Very simple. For more complex things I use Quicken. At the end of the month you see your starting budget, what you spent, and what’s either left over or how much you went over. The first of the month start fresh. Why does everyone want to muck it up by adding unnecessary features. I like the simplicity that this app has. I can click on say Jan 5th and see that I spent $7.90 @ Panda Express, $10 @ Hess and $32.98 @ Apple. Plain and Simple - might be all the information I need in that moment, but, If I want to know more I will refer to my Quicken app and my entries there will say that the $7.90 was on my debit card for lunch at Panda Express, the $10 @ Hess was for Gasoline with my debit card and I used my Apple Gift Card to buy an iPhone case at the Apple Store which totaled $32.98.

OMG...

I bought it, but It was crushed when I ran this app. I tried to run it on my both mac book and It was still crushed… Please let me know the reason why...

Where are the instructions?

Is there a way to enter my income so that it can determine the balance at any given time? What good are my expenses if I don’t know what I started with?

Monthly Expenses

Nice App, a couple of comments. Need a side window that slides out. There you can put your pay checks per calendar date and those can be totaled at the top, but the customer has a break down of their pay per week/2weeks, etc. Another side window that slides out for a regular calculator would be nice. even though this app handles totals for you, there are times when a bunch of smaller stuff can be lumped into one item (example: Misc) and a slick calculator with the app would be a quick way to handle this without pulling up the mac calculator. Note: It needs to handle percentages as well. Thanks

Simple, but lacking

This app is quite easy to use, however I would love to see a feature that helped budget different aspects of spending, such as groceries or discretionary spending.

Not worth it

Doesnt let you track your budget only your expenses. Pretty much a waste of my money if I cant track both. Not worth 5 bucks, not even close.

No Value

I made the mistake of buying this thinking it might be useful. There is nothing that this will do that I can’t do faster on a piece of paper. Make it useful and review my change. Live and Learn.

Dumb. Useless.

Thanks for the flat design update—but, still a ‘monthly’ expenses app that can’t schedule recurring ‘monthly’ expenses, must manually add every month. No ‘autodebit’ or auto credit options, absolutely useless.
